"Circle of Life" is made of two linocuts. The large blue outer one is 24"x24." The inner lino cut is 11"x"11". It was printed onto thin paper and attached with chin colle' technique. It was created at a time when my mother was dying and my first grandchild was about to be born.
This monotype is influenced by the aboriginal work I see in Australia. It is loosely based on a painting I liked there. I made a stencil of the circular pattern. It has a different look as a print, but retains somewhat of the structure. I placed the stencil on a texture before printing it. The dots of course are Australian, I added them with acrylic paint.
The upper portion of this piece is a monotype. The lower portion is a plate with real wood used as texture
This piece was inspired by my Irish heritage. The texture was created by several textured papers printed. The woodcut was the plate used in a reduction print I had previously done. The relic is a transfer from a book of Celtic relics. The transfer and woodcuts have been added by chin colle'
A companion piece to "Celtic Treasures I. This piece was created with an etching plate on the top ,the lower portion is printed from a raised texture plate I made myself.
This piece started with a 18x24 etching plate I had created in the "soft ground" technique . The next layer was a stencil of a large leaf I found on one of my walks. The third layer contains smaller leaves arranged to encircle the final layer , which is a digital photograph. I took the photograph and printed it onto very transparent paper. This was then attached to the print by chin colle'
This piece was inspired by a trip to Hawaii. The process is the same as in "Double Delight"
This piece was created by several techniques The base was made with a "blended roll" made with a very large roller. The top design was a relief plate, The staircase image was a photographic plate printed on top. The inspiration was to depict the overcoming depression.
This is also a very mixed printmaking media piece. The background is an etching . The large leaf and red leaves are stencils. The delicate leaf is an etching onto very transparent paper and attached by chin colle'.
The background is again, an etching The red leaves are another etching printed on top of the background the lower leaf is a stencil, and the large leaf has been printed onto very transparent paper and affixed by chin colle'.
The background plate is an etching from a 18x24 etching plate done in the 'soft ground' method. The red leaves are another etching printed over the first one. The delicate leaf is an etching onto transparent paper and affixed by chin colle'. The small leaves are stencils.
